Nature of
request:
|
The canon
shows that the king's ancestors granted to the mother church and the
prebendary lands, tenements, messuages, rents and other manner of
possessions, and it has continued in seisin. The Beltofts and other
malefactors ejected the canon from his possessions and took them away to
the great damage and the disinheritance of the mother church. He is unable
to have remedy by the common law to maintain the right of his prebendary
for fear of death. He requests remedy to maintain the right of his church
and the estate of the king.
